The Perfect Space Saving Solution
It is a common problem. Families reach a point where they start feeling squeezed for space. They love their house, but they start running out of usable space, and additions are expensive, take months to complete, and require permits and the like, so what’s a struggling family to do? Bunk beds might just be the answer! By making better use of your home’s vertical space, you get the best of both worlds. More room, without the need to add on!
For families struggling with space issues, this is actually an almost perfect solution. In addition to being one of the best bunk beds for kids, owing to its sturdy construction and durable finish, but it’s also ideal for budget conscious parents. It’s not easy to find cheap bunk beds with stairs, especially in the sub -$1000 range, which makes this stylish piece of furniture all the more attractive!
What You’ll Like
These bunk beds are a superb blending of quality and value. Yes, there are more expensive beds on the market, and yes, they are made of even higher quality materials, but in terms of value for the money, it’s very hard to top this set of beds! Additionally, their walnut finish is both attractive and fairly neutral. While it’s not quite universal, you’ll find that it will blend seamlessly with most home décor styles.
Children will love them because bunk beds lend themselves very well to both play and sleep time. Not only do they get a space saving, great looking set of beds to sleep in, but from a child’s perspective, one of the greatest things about bunk beds is the fact that they’ve got the beginnings of a fantastic fort for when they’re awake, and here, you’ll really come to appreciate the sturdy construction of the set.
Things to Consider for Twin Over Full Size Bunk Bed
Despite being an excellent product, there are a few minor points worth mentioning. First, the bed slats are plywood. This won’t be a problem for younger children, but as they get older, you may find yourself wanting or needing to either reinforce, or add another slat or two for additional support. It’s certainly not a deal breaker. Slats seldom match the lifespan of the bed itself, and this remains true for these bunk beds, but it is something to keep in mind.
Second, while the beds do come with assembly instructions, as with most assembly instructions, there are a few instances where the directions can be cryptic. Fortunately, the beds aren’t in terribly many pieces, so a misstep in putting something together won’t set you back more than a few minutes, but again, something to consider. If you break open the boxes thinking you’ll have the beds assembled and ready for use in twenty minutes or so, you’ll probably be in for a bit of a disappointment. It won’t take you all day, but also, assembly’s not quite that easy!
Finally, and this is something that’s true of all furniture requiring assembly, and not related specifically to this product but be sure to put a small amount of soap on the screws before you try to tighten them down completely. Failing to do so will likely result in at least a few stripped screws, which will complicate your life later on if you have to take them down to move them.
In all, this set of bunk beds earns a well deserved 4.5 stars out of five. It’s the right product at the right price, providing an excellent blend of value, utility, and durability. You will not be disappointed!
